Standards

Whether the school you are considering is accredited, it may be important to know what the medical education standards are. Just because the school has not obtained accreditation yet, it does not mean that they offer poor-quality education. By knowing what the standards are, you are going to be able to ask even better questions and fully understand what the school should be providing you with. Most of the standards adopted by the accrediting bodies in the Caribbean have been adopted by the standards of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)- an accrediting body is overseeing US and Canadian medical schools.

As you have probably realized by now, there are many bodies involved in regulating certain aspects of the process of becoming a licensed physician in United States and Canada.
